Here at Art Craft Studios we belive a mixture of learning & practise is the ideal path to any pottery journey. So we offer a course like no other, designed to help you build real pottery skills, find your rhythm & grow in confidence - Perfect for beginners or rusty returners. Not only that, we all have busy lives so there’s none of that, 'you must come every week' nonsense, our course is flexible for up to 6 months!Pottery PluS!
Step 1 - intro
Learn the fundamentals
Take part in our 3hr Pottery experience: a hands-on workshop introducing you to the basics. With a professional guiding you every step of the way you’ll leave ready to throw!

Set up, clay types, & tools
Preparing & recycling clay
Studio safety
How to centre
How to throw basic shapes
How to care for your work
One Sunday a month
1 x workshop (total 3hrs)
Boosters - Boost your skills with our guidance
5 x instructor led booster sessions to continue learning, gain confidence & grow your skills. Mix & match Boosters alongside Freestyle sessions.
Learn:
Perfecting your centring
Throwing on the wheel
Turning on the wheel
Shapes, clay types, amought, colours on the wheel
Fettling, handles, features & surface decoration
Glazing & painting
Monday's 6-9pm
5 x 3hr Booster (total 15hrs)
step 2 -
Booster + Freestyle combo!
Freestyle - Freedom to explore at your own pace
5 x Freestyle sessions to practise, explore, experiment & play. Mix & match Freestyle alongside Booster sessions.
Develop:
Anything you wish on the wheel. These are self-directed so you can choose & go at your own pace. But wer will be on-hand the entire time.
Freestyle: Tues & Wed 6-9pm, Fri 2-5pm & Sat 10am-1pm.
5 x 3hr Freestyle (total 15hrs)
Step 3 - What’s next?
Your pottery journey
After step 1 you’ll have 6-months to complete step 2 & use all your Booster & Freestyle sessions.
After your final session, up to 6 pots of your choice will be fired. free of charge (More pots can be fired for an additional fee). Any pots you don’t want to keep will be recycled.

Your pottery journey doesn’t end there!
Continue with either more boosters or more Freestyle or mix & match! It’s up to you. But

33 hours learning & practising pottery
1 x Introduction (total 3hrs worth £120)

Community
We know learning in smaller groups is best so we offer a maximum of 8 people at a time.
The studio is led by Amanda with a Masters in ceramics & over 17yrs experience.
How to Book
